JOHN HALLETT CUP CRUISER DIVISION


THE BASICS

Register on Regatta Network by doing a copy/paste of the Network website shown on the “RACE” tab on the CYC website and indicate that you wish to sail in the Cruising Division


Include the make and model of your boat and whether you will sail with or without a spinnaker and if you will have a crew (dogs, cats, parrots other pets not included) or single handing.


Please be sure to include an email address, texting number or whatever is the best way to contact you so that you can receive your starting time.
The Catalina 25 and others with a PHRF of 228 will start at 11:00 AM.  All other boats will start either before or after depending on a faster or slower PHRF number (chase or be chased).


The starting line will be at the south end of the island on the east side of the lake, just south of 7 coves marina.  The starting line will be between the flag on the RC (cruise director’s) Key West 2300 “Avanti” and an orange inflatable mark A course map will be posted on the CYC website and will generally be from the starting line, to the lighthouse, to the eastern end of the highway bridge, to a mark near Walden marina, back to the lighthouse, and then back to the start finish line.  Marks of the course will be 2 foot diameter orange marks.


THE FINISH!!!  The finish will be the same line as the start and it is important that you record your time and : call or text it to 913-744-8319, email it to schro4066@yahoo.com or Radio the Avanti on VHF71. 


The RC boat Avanti will be on station but want to be sure we record everyone.


PRIZES!! First through third to finish will receive a trophy. If there are 4 or more boats of a particular one-design class, an additional class trophy will be awarded. A special Joshua Slocum Trophy will be awarded to the highest finishing single handing skipper. Trophies will be awarded at the Saturday evening dinner at the CYC clubhouse.


Last but not least, the RC in charge of the regatta events has set the entry fee for the Cruiser Division at $15.00 per boat!
